Bike rack

May 13th, 2012 · 2 Comments

New bike rack and an old pannier on the bikes we bought at Bikesport this spring.  David’s bike rack is on its way.

Our helmet-hat contraptions are made by DaBrim.  They’re a beast in the wind, but for city trips on the side streets they work very well.IMGP3826e IMGP3824eDavid is allowed to speed down a safe stretch of Rice’s inner loop if he likes; today he reached 20 mph per his bike computer and says he would have gone even faster if he hadn’t already reached the stop sign.  Next time, we’re taking him to the beer bike track.  We’re all curious to know how fast he can really go.  Zoom, zoom.

    20mph!!! That is amazing!
I am impressed when I can get my Trek up to 20 mph.
    Go David!
I wonder if Houston has any bike races for kids. That would be something I think David would love, and sounds like he would probably win them too.

Yeah, I want to take him to the Beer Bike track and test it — that sounds really fast, although . . . he’s really fast. His legs are like little pistons; it’s cute. There are bike races for kids now and then; I usually find out about them the afternoon after the race has already run. :) Not sure if we’d like the scene, though–some parents probably get pretty competitive, I’m sure. I need to talk to my favorite bikey guys about it, and give David a chance to watch a couple so he can decide if he wants in on it.
